Fidel J. Trujillo services 35 HSIs in Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, and is hosted at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Mr. Trujillo previously worked as Program Director for the College Assistance Migrant Program and the Upward Bound Program at the University of New Mexico.
He holds a B.A. and M.A. from New Mexico Highlands University, where he also served as Student Body President. As a student, Fidel completed four federal internships, living and working in Washington, DC. Through the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program, he worked with the United States Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service as well as the Bureau of Land Management, Department of the Interior (DOI). Fidel also completed internships through the Student Conservation Association and Minority Access, working with DOI's Office of Educational Partnerships. In addition, Fidel served as a HACU Ambassador in 1998 and 2000.
Mr. Trujillo is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Language, Literacy, and Sociocultural Studies at the University of New Mexico.
